Minimally Invasive Vascular is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Interventional Radiology Scrub Technologist to support our physicians and clinical team during diagnostic and interventional procedures. This individual will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, efficient, and patient-focused procedural environment.
Position Summary
The Interventional Radiology Scrub Technologist is responsible for preparing procedure rooms, maintaining sterile technique, assisting physicians during minimally invasive vascular procedures, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are available to support safe, efficient patient care. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and thrives in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Procedural Support
· Prepare procedure rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment prior to scheduled procedures.
· Establish and maintain sterile fields throughout procedures.
· Scrub and assist physicians during vascular and interventional radiology procedures.
· Anticipate physician needs and efficiently provide instruments, devices, and supplies.
· Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and transfers before and after procedures.
· Handle specimens according to established protocols.
· Assist with room turnover and preparation between cases.
Patient Care & Safety
· Promote a culture of safety, compassion, professionalism, and patient-centered care.
· Assist with patient preparation and monitoring activities as directed by the clinical team.
· Observe patient condition during procedures and communicate concerns promptly to the physician or nursing staff.
· Ensure compliance with infection control, sterilization, and safety standards.
· Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
Inventory & Equipment Management
· Monitor and maintain inventory of procedural supplies and equipment.
· Assist with stocking procedure rooms and clinical areas.
· Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and available for scheduled procedures.
· Report equipment concerns and coordinate service needs as appropriate.
· Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives.
Documentation & Compliance
· Maintain accurate procedure logs and required documentation.
· Ensure compliance with practice policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
· Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications
Required
· Current Surgical Technologist certification or equivalent procedural scrub experience.
· Current BLS certification.
· Knowledge of sterile technique and procedural assisting.
· Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced clinical environment.
· Basic computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records.
Preferred
· Experience in Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery, Cardiology, Cath Lab, Endovascular Procedures, or Surgical Services.
· ACLS certification.
· Experience scrubbing vascular interventions and image-guided procedures.
· Experience working in an outpatient procedural setting.
